At FIT, 4th semester fashion design students are required to design a garment that is inspired by a chosen theme/designer. For our semester, we were chosen the designer, Elsa Schiaparelli. At the end of the semester, critics come in and choose about 40 students to exhibit their work in our school. I found this really interesting Donna Karen burn out star fabric at Mood. I thought it was perfect because Schiaparelli had a cosmic inspired collection, which she was inspired by the stories of her grandfather, who was an astronomer. I didn’t get chosen, but I am so proud of myself. I learned so much in making this garment.
